JOB SCOPE:
The Packaging Division of this company has two railed served facilities which are located in Central New Jersey. Their core business is trans-loading and the packaging of plastic resin from rail car to either boxes or bags for shipping. They also trans-load and package from the rail car to a Company owned Hopper Truck, or to an outside trucker, or they load it as rail car storage. The plastic resin is used by plastic manufacturers of plastic bottles, toys, decking, etc. The main supplies and producers are located primarily in the South West and they ship via rail to the North East. This business group has been in operation for over 20 years and it has the current capacity to quadruple its sales from a multi-million dollar revenue base.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position are:
-- Develop the business and manage the operation.
-- With the current staffing in place, the main thrust of this individual day would be split 70% sales and 30% operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Selling – Customers and Carrier Group - Using telephone, email or other forms of communication, contact existing and potential customers daily to develop customer and carrier relationships. 2. Pricing and quote determination - Responsible for maximizing profit while maintaining customer and carrier relationships. Evaluates customer needs and carrier costs to establish profitable quotes. Understands carrier costs and rates. Negotiates with the carrier to determine the cost of the shipment. Ensures that customer quotes meet or exceed minimum levels of profitability.

3. Contract completion and monitoring - To promote customer satisfaction and improve on-going sales, responsible for facilitating the administrative processes related to contract approval and completion. Update load status using brokerage system. Contacts carrier to dispatch vehicle. Monitor the shipment in transit and communicate status to customer. May interface with carrier to expedite shipment or resolve issues. Reviews carrier performance and insures overall compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable federal and state requirements.

4. Sales and payment follow up - Responsible for partnering with team members to insure timely payment of invoices. Contacts customer to obtain additional information or resolve invoice discrepancies. Works with customer to expedite payment.

5. Teamwork - Partner with team members to insure customer needs are met and carrier relationships are maintained. Handle business and accounts for others as needed when they are unavailable. May be required to coach and train other team members.
