They are well established, well funded and profitable. They have corporate offices covering the world (very focused in Asia) and are a top twenty global air forwarder and are among the Top Ten in the Asia/US market. They are experiencing tremendous growth, and with this growth opportunity abounds. Our client is the largest privately owned company in its field. Our client is currently looking for a qualified and experienced General Manager or Branch Manager for the New York (JFK) area. Our client expects candidates to value lucrative compensation for hard work and performance, ample opportunity for career progression and the stability that comes with a well established, profitable and growing company. To be considered for this position you must fit the following profile: Roles and Responsibilities: As the General Manager / Branch Manager you will be responsible for managing the office, promoting new and existing business, recruiting operations and sales associates, and be responsible for the overall profitability of the station. You will be responsible for setting an example for the employees by exemplifying and demanding appropriate conduct, good character and a strong work ethic. You should be adept at fostering teamwork and productivity thru strong leadership and guidance. Your areas of control and responsibility will include but are not limited to the following: -- Recruit qualified candidates to perform the assigned jobs. -- Regular meetings with staff to evaluate their performance and potential and to find out the difficulties they encounter. -- Keep proper files and records to ensure the office is in compliance with Customs and Government regulations. -- Assist sales team in creating market strategy and ensure execution. -- Ensure healthy AR/AP flow Requirements: -- You must have prior managerial experience in a Freight Forwarding environment (minimum 2 years as a Departmental Manager). -- Bachelors Degree is desirable; however excellent experience and a proven track record are highly valued. -- The ability to speak Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus, but is not a requirement. -- More than anything we are looking for people with a drive to succeed and who want to be aligned with a top Freight Forwarding company to enhance and drive their career forward!
