Our client has a forty year track record of excellence in the Heavy Haul Trucking and Logistics industry. They service Canada, the United States and Mexico and offer “Turn Key” solutions for major hauling projects.

Our Clients Sales Managers manage the on-going, personal contact required to provide our customers with the quality service they deserve. The Sales Manager’s courtesy and professionalism is often the ultimate basis for a customer’s decision to request or refuse our clients services. The responsibilities of the Regional Sales Manager include the following, but not limited to:
Sales

-- Research territory to obtain:
- New Business
- Repetitive business

-- Develop and implement a personal strategic sales plan for their assigned territory. This personal plan is to include:
- A primary and secondary market focus
- An account list of the above to mutually work with Terminal Managers

-- Identify and contact new prospects in assigned territory by:
- Cold calling
- Follow-up on internal/external leads
- Telemarketing, seminars, machine shows, conferences, etc.

-- Give oral/written presentations of services to prospective/current customers focusing on the needs of the customer

-- Research and target ten key/major accounts within the assigned territory

-- Make a minimum of 8 confirmed sales calls per day

-- Understand and promote all services and equipment

-- Visit the respective terminal 1 time per week (preferred time frame Friday afternoon to discuss past week with operations and to prepare upcoming week’s calls)

Administration:

-- Maintain customer profiles on all major accounts

-- Provide follow-up to:
- Individuals (operations/sales) who provide sales leads
- Corporate office regarding quotations previously submitted to customers (use quotation follow-up form)


-- Maintain customer tickler files to insure effective follow-up

-- Submit credit information for all new customers, e.g., TEPA

-- Provide weekly itinerary and highlight reports to the Vice President of Sales/Marketing on a weekly basis, (to be sent via email, each Sunday by 9:00p.m., EST)

-- Recruitment of new drivers for your assigned territory/company

-- Provide weekly itineraries, highlights, and “hot list” to local Terminal Manager

-- Communicate and interact with respective operational staff to resolve internal/external problems that affect customer satisfaction regarding company services

-- Maintain availability of professional brochures and presentation material, e.g., in trunk of car and in terminal office

-- When making sales calls insure the following, at all times:
- Automobile is clean (in/out)
- Itinerary for the week and /or day is available
- Money in hand for ancillary expenses, e.g., tolls, parking, tips, etc.
- Reservations are made for customer lunches and dinners (when applicable)

-- And all other duties assigned

Skills Development

-- Participate in seminars and training programs. (Take a minimum of one self-improvement class per year)

-- Understand and maintain competitive information on your focused markets to insure company maintains a competitive edge

-- Participate in a minimum of 1 industry-related group/conference/committee to develop proper exposure among industry peers.

Compensation:
