Job Summary: As Director of Freight Broker Operations, you will manage a freight brokerage operation (truck and intermodal freight brokerage) providing LTL and TL transportation within and between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. This is a support operation for a related company with a large client base and infrastructure resources. New business development is not a primary duty. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary: Conduct profitable freight brokerage service business in compliance with U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Property Broker & Motor Carrier) and other applicable government agencies. -- Source reliable carriers and agents to deliver sustainable services to our clients. -- Negotiate industry competitive agreements and contracts with carriers. -- Supervise customer service support staff, with authority to hire and fire. Qualifications: -- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the freight brokerage business. -- Bachelors Degree. -- Strong organization and planning skills. -- Management Experience. -- Carrier rate and service negotiation experience -- Willingness to travel as needed - Visit clients and expand business relationships -- Proficient in MS Word®, Excel®, Power Point®, Email, and Internet meetings (for prospective client presentations).
