5434	Director / VP of Domestic Operations	Director or Vice President of Domestic Operations Corporate Profile: Dynamic Global Air & Ocean Freight Forwarder is seeking an experienced Director of Sales or VP of Sales. This global provider of logistics services has been in the industry over 30 years and is profitable and stable enough to have survived several difficult periods since 1980 when deregulation hit the industry. They have a network of 35+ domestic stations and overseas agents located in key locations globally. They handle both domestic and international air freight forwarding, ocean freight forwarding, domestic ground and logistics. Job Scope: Negotiate rates and services with LTL carriers, PU&D truckers, hot shot ground carriers and airlines for domestic, North American and Global services. If the candidate also has experience negotiating service and rates with Ocean Freight Carriers, that area would also be added. This is a new job that would be the focal point to maximize the buyer power and services with various service carriers that my client uses as well as adding new service providers. In addition, measurements and KPI’s will need to be set up to measure the baseline and your progress in reducing costs and improving service on a moving forward basis. Job Description: -- Negotiate rates & service with existing & new LTL carriers. -- Negotiate rates & service with Domestic and International Airlines. -- Negotiate rates & service with expedited ground carriers. -- Negotiate rates & service with Pick up & Delivery agents. -- Negotiated rates & service with Ocean Freight Carriers, if experience permits. -- Travel required to meet with existing & potential vendors as needed. -- Effectiveness measured in cost reduction and service improvement. -- Develop evaluation system for their transportation service providers. -- Develop effective relationships with all transportation service providers. Job Requirements: -- 4 yr degree / MBA preferred -- Must have extensive LTL background (with Carrier or 3PL) in negotiating service & rates -- Additional experience with a 3PL background in Air Freight and Expedited Ground negotiating service & rates would be much preferred -- Must live within commuting distance of either West Central LI or Northern NJ. -- Prior management experience needed to head up a possible future 3PL Division Job Pay / Benefits: -- Base Pay – ($90K - $125K) Determined by Experience & Salary History -- Bonus – (15% - 30% of base pay) Based on cost reductions current rate levels plus service improvement -- Car Mileage or Car Allowance – depending on need -- Expense Account -- Cell / Laptop -- Full Family benefits – Medical / Dental / Vision -- 401K	Base $90K-$125K + comm	Long Island	NY
